Yes. The Mitutoyo 178-390 standard detector is designed specifically for the SJ-210 and SJ-310 standard portable surface roughness testers 178-561-12E as well as current SJ220 models 178-742-13.

How do I know which detector am I using?

178-561-12E and 178-742-13 would be using standard detector 178-390, while 178-561-11E and 178-741-13 will be using low force detector 178-296. If unsure, let us know the model of your SJ set.

When should the detector be replaced?

Replacement is recommended when:
